What the ground does in The Woodlands
The Woodlands is built into the pines, and mature trees on established lots are the thing most likely to complicate getting a rig to the hole.
North of Houston the ground changes. The pine belt around Conroe and The Woodlands runs sandier than the clay that dominates the metro, and it generally drains better, so there is less of the seasonal swelling and shrinking that drives soil movement further south. That is easier ground to build in, but it is not a reason to build lighter: sandy soil offers less lateral support against a shell wall than stiff clay does, and excavation walls in sand need more care to hold their shape while the steel goes in. The shell still comes off the engineer's plan.

Building a pool in The Woodlands
Is the sandy soil around The Woodlands easier to build a pool in than clay?
In one way yes and in one way no. Sandier, better-draining ground moves less with the seasons than expansive clay does, so there is less cyclical stress on a finished shell. But sand gives less lateral support against the wall of a pool and holds an excavation less well while the steel is being tied, so the dig and the forming take more care.
Do the trees around The Woodlands affect a pool build?
They affect access more than anything else. A gunite rig needs a route to the excavation for its hose, and mature pines and tight wooded lots are one of the more common reasons a job costs more to shoot than its size suggests. Worth flagging when you ask for a bid.
